Houston Astros Jose Altuve San Diego Padres Ejection

José Altuve Ejected in Padres-Astros Game, Sparking Controversy

Astros second baseman José Altuve was ejected from Tuesday's game against the San Diego Padres after arguing a called third strike.

The incident occurred in the top of the third inning with the Padres leading 1-0. Altuve took a 1-2 curveball from Padres starter Mike Clevinger for a called strike three. Altuve immediately began arguing with home plate umpire Ryan Blakney the pitch was outside. After a brief discussion, Blakney ejected Altuve, who continued to argue with the umpire as he left the field.

Altuve's ejection is the second for an Astros player this season. Alex Bregman was ejected from a game against the Oakland Athletics on June 28th.

The Astros went on to lose the game to the Padres 5-3. Altuve's ejection is sure to be a hot topic of discussion in the coming days, as it is the latest in a string of controversial calls that have gone against the Astros this season.

It is important to note that the umpires are human and can make mistakes. However, the Astros have been on the wrong end of several questionable calls this season, which has led to frustration from the team and its fans.

The Astros are currently in a tight race for the AL West division title. They are currently 1.5 games behind the Padres and 3 games ahead of the Seattle Mariners.

Altuve's ejection is a significant loss for the Astros, as he is one of the team's best players. However, the Astros have shown that they can win without him, as they have gone 5-2 in the games that he has missed this season.

The Astros will look to bounce back from Tuesday's loss when they take on the Padres again on Wednesday.
