Line Fire Burned Over 172 Acres Since Sept. 5

Update: Firefighters Gained Control of Line Fire Monday

Cal Fire contained the wildfire Monday afternoon after it scorched 172 acres near Copperopolis in Calaveras County.

The Line Fire started around 1:30 p.m. Monday, just off Highway 4 near the Calaveras-Tuolumne county line, according to Cal Fire.

No evacuations were ordered.

Firefighters contained the blaze Monday around 4:30 p.m., but crews will remain on scene overnight to monitor the fire, Cal Fire said.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
